The Facility

The hopsital is one of Australia’s leading tertitary hospital in Perth, WA with an international reputation for ground-breaking medical research. They provide a comprehensive range of clinical services including trauma, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, general medicine, general surgery and cardiac care. It is home to WA’s only comprehensive cancer centre – the largest cancer treatment centre in the State – and is the State’s principal hospital for neurosurgery and liver transplants.

The Position

You will contribute to the neurology/stroke service by undertaking care of inpatients and outpatients under the supervision of the neurologists in the department. In addition,you will contribute to the out-of-hours on-call roster for neurology and stroke. You assess and manage acute stroke patients who might need hyperacute therapy (thrombolysis or endovascular clot retrieval) and undertaking ward rounds on weekends when on call.

This position is available for unaccredited trainees. Once you have received appropriate approval/acceptance into the training program, an application can be made to accredit the terms within this position as non-core terms towards your training.

Selection Criteria

  • Current general registration with AHPRA or ability to apply for Registration via the Competent Authority Pathway
  • Demonstrated clinical skills and experience in internal medicine
  • PGY3+ / FY2+
  • This role is suitable for RMOs looking to step up into Registrar
