Activities of Daily Living Assessments

Our ADL Assessments measure an individual's level of functional ability with consideration to their performance of self-care tasks, domestic maintenance, and general community mobility. The goal of the ADL assessment is to reduce the impact of an illness or injury and to help the individual gain better functionality. The focus of an ADL is always to provide the injured party with improved independence while maintaining safety.

A home or ADL Assessment may involve:

  • Recommendations for aides, equipment, or services to assist with promoting an individual’s independence in their home environment
  • Identifying if there is any need for home modifications
  • Educating the individual on simple, safe, and effective ways to perform daily activities
